Manchester United have approached the representatives of Stade Reims striker Hugo Ekitike ahead of a possible move this summer, according to reports in the English media.
The teenager has been in excellent form this season, and the Red Devils are keen on recruiting a young forward who can add depth to their squad.
Ekitike is believed to be available for around €15m (£12.8m), with Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot having confirmed last month that the 19-year-old would be sold to allow the player to further his development.
Arsenal, Newcastle and Bayern Munich are believed to be United’s main rivals for the France youth international, but the likes of Chelsea and West Ham have also been credited with an interest in the player over the past few months.
Ekitike is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but his record this campaign for Reims has still been pretty impressive, having scored 10 goals and contributed four assists in 24 appearances.
