United Have £63m ‘Agreement’ With Medical Planned For Portuguese Star

Manchester United have an “agreement” in place to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to the Corriere Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper reports that the Red Devils have bid €70m (£63m) for the Portuguese international and that the player is ready to land in England for a medical.

Fernandes has been heavily linked with United, along with Manchester City and Liverpool this summer, but despite numerous stories, no official offers have been confirmed by the English press.

Considering this latest report comes from Italy, it would be best to take what they say with a pinch of salt.

The Corriere Dello Sport mentioned the Fernandes deal in passing when talking about United’s interest in Lazio’s Sergey Milinkovic-Savic.

They say that talks have taken place for a €90m (£81m) transfer, but it is hard to believe that United will be shelling out £144m on two midfielders, without Paul Pogba leaving first.
