Manchester United could sign Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare for a relatively low price due to the Frenchman’s contract situation, according to reports in the French media.
Both the Red Devils and AC Milan have been mentioned as potential suitors for the 21-year-old in recent days, and it is believed Lille could be open to selling him for €25m (£23m) this month or at the end of the season.
United were also linked with Soumare last January, along with Chelsea, but at the time it was said that his club were holding out for a fee closer to €40m (£36m). However, it is said he will be offloaded for a much lower amount due to the fact that the midfielder is now within the final eighteen months of his contract.
Soumare has been touted as being Paul Pogba’s potential replacement at Old Trafford. The United star’s current deal expires in 2022 and he could well leave the club in the summer.
