United Handed Major Boost In Battle To Sign 50M Rated Brazilian Ace But There’s A Catch

Ajax will let Manchester United target Antony leave this summer, but it could mean they miss out on Lisandro Martinez, according to The Mirror.

The Eredivisie champions are willing to sanction Antony’s sale if they receive a bid in the region of £50m for the Brazilian. However, United won’t be allowed to sign Martinez as well if his teammate moves to Old Trafford.

Ajax have already lost Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui to Bayern Munich, while Sebastien Haller is also expected to join Borussia Dortmund, and Erik ten Hag’s former club aren’t willing to lose more key players. It should also be noted that there is a scenario where United could miss out on BOTH Antony and Martinez.

Arsenal have already had a €30m bid rejected for Martinez but if they return with an improved offer and secure the Argentinian international’s signature, Ajax would then prevent Antony from leaving.

With United still focused on recruiting Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, there is a real danger that they could miss the boat when it comes to snapping up some of ten Hag’s other former players.
