Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier is interested in a move to Manchester United, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The England international was linked with a switch to Old Trafford earlier this month, and it is believed that, as the 30-year-old is a boyhood fan of United, he would be open to a transfer.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keen on finding some competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, whose form this season has become a major concern.

With Diogo Dalot out on loan at AC Milan and Brandon Williams expected to move on a temporary basis in the January transfer window, youngster Ethan Laird could well be the only backup option for Wan-Bissaka in the squad.

Trippier, who is valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, is enjoying a good second season at Atletico, having provided three assists in 11 league games, and it remains to be seen whether his current club would be willing to let him go.
