United Handed Big Transfer Boost As It’s Claimed 39M Rated Target “Will Soon Be Playing In The Premier League”

PSV captain Cody Gakpo is likely to make a move to the Premier League “soon”, according to Dutch TV pundit Hans Kraay Jr.

The former AZ Alkmaar and Brighton defender claims that PSV’s financial problems mean that they will be forced into selling their prized asset:

“Gakpo is gone. PSV are not going to keep him, and cannot keep him anymore. Gakpo will soon be playing in the Premier League.”

Manchester United are believed to be the frontrunners for Gakpo’s signature but they may have to see off the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool in the battle to snap up the player.

PSV have reportedly slapped a €45m (£39m) price tag on the winger, which isn’t a massive figure, considering he is starring for the Netherlands at the World Cup.

Erik ten Hag’s side are not expected to have a big transfer budget for January, though, so it’s probably for the best that Gakpo won’t cost an extortionate amount.

Although he wouldn’t be a direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, he could help fill the void in terms of his goal threat. The Dutchman has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season.
