United Handed Big Injury Scare Ahead Of The Europa League Clash Against Betis

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is being assessed by the club’s medical team after picking up a knock in the 7-0 defeat to Liverpool at the weekend, according to ESPN.

The Brazilian international was substituted with fifteen minutes to go at Anfield and he could now be a doubt for Thursday’s game against Real Betis.

While United could potentially cope without Casemiro for the first leg at Old Trafford, the team’s track record without him this season has been pretty poor.

Erik ten Hag’s side have lost four of their fourteen matches when the 31-year-old hasn’t played this campaign. In contrast, they have lost just three times in 34 when he has featured.

Their win percentage is, therefore, significantly higher when Casemiro is involved, and he will be missed if he doesn’t feature versus Betis. Considering that it appears to be a minor injury, though, it will be hoped that he will (at the very least) be ready to face Southampton on Sunday.
