United Had NINE Names On Their Summer Transfer Wishlist But Plans Have Since Changed

Manchester United had nine players on their shortlist of transfer targets, according to the Evening Standard, but the impact of the global health crisis means the club’s spending may have to be pulled back.

The most high profile names are Harry Kane, Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish, but the club were also eyeing Erling Haaland, Donny van de Beek, James Maddison, Timo Werner, Raul Jimenez and Moussa Dembele.

Chairman Ed Woodward has spoken out in recent days about the limits on transfer spending which will be imposed by the new financial realities in football.

However, it is unlikely that all of these names will be taken off the list. Players such as Dembele and Werner, for example, will be available for lower amounts than the likes of Kane and Haaland, and it will be interesting to see whether other targets emerge in the coming weeks as United make changes to their transfer strategy.
