United Given Key Injury Boost For Liverpool Clash With Pair Tipped To Return Earlier Than Predicted

Manchester United forwards Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard could both be fit to face Liverpool next Sunday, according to the Mirror.

Interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had stated that the pair would be out for up two to three weeks following injuries they sustained against Paris Saint-Germain.

Martial was substituted at half-time due to a groin strain, while Lingard had to be taken off just before the interval after picking up a hamstring injury.

The United medical staff are now, though, said to be confident that neither injury is as bad as first feared, and that there is a chance of both making a swift return for the Liverpool clash.

Martial and Lingard have both played regularly under Solksjaer alongside Marcus Rashford in a front three. Their absence in the second half of the 2-0 defeat to PSG was keenly felt, and United supporters will be keeping their finger’s crossed that they’ll be fit next weekend.
