United given boost in pursuit of Serie A star

Manchester United have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Juventus star Paolo Dybala after PSG announced they are no longer interested in a move for the Argentine.

PSG have been heavily linked with a move for Dybala in recent months, and were hotly tipped to sign the Juve striker in the summer to add to their already impressive, and expensive front-line.

However, PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelafi has now revealed he does not consider the 24-year-old key to the Parisian’s future plans, leaving the door open for him to join Manchester United come the end of the season.

“The truth is there are a lot of good players in Serie A, not just Dybala,” the PSG chairman told La Stampa. “If we are interested in him, we’ll call Juventus.

“[Juventus president Andrea] Agnelli is a good friend but I can tell you that Dybala, at the moment, is not the key to PSG’s future.”

United manager Jose Mourinho is understoof to be a big admirer of the former Palermo star, who has established himself as one of Europe’s most lethal hitmen since joining Juve in 2015.

The Argentine has hit 59 goals in just over 120 appearances for The Old Lady in his two-and-a-half seasons with the club.

Mourinho is keen to add extra firepower to his attack, and with money to spend, is likely to turn to the £70 million rated star in the summer.

Dybala has also admitted ‘missing’ his former team-mate Paul Pogba, sparking rumours he intends to re-unite with his former compatriot in the new future.
