United fans torn over Zinedine Zidane rumours

Manchester United fans are torn over rumours that Zinedine Zidane could become the club’s next manager.

According to reports, Zidane wants to replace Jose Mourinho as the manager of United as he looks for a quick return to management.

Zidane left Real Madrid at the end of last season after winning three consecutive Champions League titles and is already looking for his next challenge.

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli had wanted Zidane to follow Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin, but L’Equipe report the Frenchman instead has his eye set on England and in particular Manchester United.

The future of Jose Mourinho is currently in limbo following a difficult last season and summer, in which the Portuguese criticised a number of his players and club chief Ed Woodward.

Mourinho slammed the likes of Anthony Martial and Antonio Valencia for not returning to pre-season early enough, and also complained at the club’s lack of ambition in the transfer market.

United completed just three new signings this summer in the form of Lee Grant, Diogo Dalot and Fred, however only the latter of that trio are likely to feature heavily at Old Trafford this season.

Despite such problems however, United got off to a positive start to new season, beating Leicester City 2-1 last Friday in their opening Premier League game.

However, whether such results continue remains to be seen – and if they don’t, you can expect the Zidane rumours to intensify.

But do the United fans really want him? Some do, and some definitely don’t …
