Rebic’s performances at this summer’s World Cup caught the eye of a number of Europe’s biggest clubs, including both Manchester United and Arsenal.
And Frankfurt director Fredi Bobic has revealed he widely expects the 24-year-old to leave Germany this summer after an impressive campaign in Russia.
“I am very happy about the success of Ante Rebic with the Croatian national team,” Bobic told Sport 1.
“The players and the coaching team are watching the World Cup games together in the training camp in the USA and are especially excited about Rebic.
“So far there are no offers available and we’re planning a steady season with Ante Rebic for the new season. Of course we know that a lot can happen when a big club makes an offer.
“We cannot compete economically with the big ones, but that’s nothing new.”
United are on the hunt for a new forward as they look to add strength in depth ahead of the new campaign, and recent reports suggest the Red Devils could be preparing a £44 million swoop for the Frankfurt star.
The United fans however think their club should be turning their attention elsewhere this summer …
