Manchester United fans have called for Alexis Sanchez to be dropped after the Chilean put in yet another lacklustre performance at the weekend.
Sanchez joined United in January from rivals Arsenal, however has thus far failed to replicate the form he showed at The Emirates – managing just two goals in 13 appearances since the switch.
And the story was no different at the weekend.
Sanchez again failed to impress as United slumped to a 1-0 loss to bottom of the table side West Bromwich Albion, with the defeat handing rivals Manchester City the Premier League title with five games still to play.
Following the defeat and Sanchez’s woeful display, United legend Gary Neville called for the former Barcelona star to de dropped ahead of tomorrow night’s trip to Bournemouth and their FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham at the weekend.
In response to a tweet that Sanchez and team-mate Paul Pogba will be dropped, Neville tweeted: “Good!”
He then went on to clarify his response, saying: “You watched them recently! If they play hope they play well but you couldn’t argue against [Marcus] Rashford, [Anthony] Martial, [Juan] Mata, [Jesse] Lingard etc in front of them!”
And the United fans appear to agree with Neville …
I think Sanchez needs dropped. Think he's done nothing for us. Loses the ball for too much. Lingard makes much better runs that opens up more space for other players. But I agree martial and rashford should start.

I remember @GNev2 lauding the Pogba & Sanchez signings. Their big personality he said after criticising LVG buys. Now happy they will be dropped

If Sanchez isn't dropped it sends out a very scary message. Rashford was immense against Liverpool and has barely had a look in since. Sanchez plays poor every week and keeps starting games

Just gonna say it. The Alexis Sanchez signing has been a disaster so far. He's not performing anywhere near his capability and in the process it's destroyed Martial, Pogba, Rashford and Lingard
