United Eyeing Deal For 34 Cap International Who Could Be Sold For 34M This Summer

Manchester United have joined the race to sign Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries, according to reports in the Italian media.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been mentioned as potential suitors for the 26-year-old but it seems that Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is also considering a move for the player.

Dumfries, who has 34 caps for the Netherlands, only moved to Italy last summer, but Inter are believed to be prepared to let the defender leave for around €40m (£34m).

Whether United would be keen on doing a deal at that price, it is doubtful. The Dutchman only cost €15m (£12.85m) when he joined the Nerazzurri, and his performances have hardly merited his valuation skyrocketing almost threefold.

A new right-back is, however, likely to be one of ten Hag’s priorities in the coming weeks, with it being claimed that United are open to offers for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has failed to live up to expectations since arriving from Crystal Palace three years ago.
