United ‘Expected To Hold Talks’ As Agents Of £100k P/W Midfielder Arrive In England

Mateo Kovacic’s representatives have “arrived in England” and they are “expected to hold talks” with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool over a potential summer transfer, according to 90min.com.

The website reports that the Chelsea midfielder is considering his options with one year remaining on his contract. He hasn’t ruled out staying at Stamford Bridge and his agents are also set to speak with the Blues in the coming days to see where he stands.

Kovacic is currently earning around £100,000 a week, and he will be hoping for a sizeable increase in salary but, with Chelsea looking to cut costs and reduce the size of their bloated squad, he could be set for the chopping block.

Whether they would agree to sell to a Premier League rival like United, though, it is difficult to know. The Croatian international would undoubtedly be a great asset for manager Erik ten Hag, and he could potentially form a strong partnership with Casemiro in the middle of the park.

At 28 years of age, Kovacic still has plenty of years left in him as well, so we shall see if anything comes of the talks with his representatives.
