United Expected To Hold ‘Further Talks’ This Week Over 23M Transfer

Manchester United are set to hold “further talks” over signing Porto left-back Alex Telles in the coming days, according to the Times reporter Paul Hirst:

It has been reported in Portugal that Porto would only be holding out for around €20m (£18m) for the player but Hirst says the actual figure is closer to £23m, so it remains to be seen whether the two sides can come to an agreement over a transfer fee.

As the Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano has claimed previously, it is believed that Telles has made it known that he wants to make the move to Old Trafford, and Porto are unlikely to stand in his way considering his contract situation.

The 27-year-old has less than one year remaining on his current deal, and the Portuguese champions are very keen to prevent him from moving for nothing next summer, after previously allowing the likes of Yacine Brahimi and Hector Herrera to leave on free transfers.
