United Enquire About £45m Rated Bundesliga Defender Ahead Of The Summer

Niclas Sule and Thorgan Hazard

Manchester United have made an enquiry for Bayern Munich centre-back Niklas Sule, according to Sport1.

The German TV channel report that the Red Devils have been scouting the 23-year-old and could make a move for the £45m rated defender in the summer.

Bayern are keen to keep Sule who has been a regular first-team player for manager Niko Kovac, with Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels being rotated to play alongside the German international.

The centre-half is in his second campaign with Bayern, having signed from Hoffenheim for £18m in July 2017. He has made 36 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga club this season and is now a regular for the German national team.

With both Boateng and Hummels having been forced into international retirement by manager Joachim Low, Sule has been the main beneficiary.

He started in a three-man backline alongside Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Matthias Ginter in the 3-2 win against the Netherlands last month.
