United Desperate To Sign Trio This Week

Jose Mourinho is said to be frustrated at Manchester United’s failure to complete many deals this summer, having only seen Victor Lindelof walk through the door at Old Trafford. Mourinho is desperate for Woodward to wrap up deals for Matic, Morata and Perisic before the start of the club’s pre-season tour, something that may prove difficult to complete.

The club’s pre-season tour begins on July 15th, with the squad set to fly to the United States at the start of next week. But Mourinho is said to want to complete the signing of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic by Sunday, with Morata’s move being sped up by the player’s agent meeting with Real Madrid to discuss his future this week, and Perisic himself trying to persuade Inter Milan to allow him to leave.

United are known to be in the market for a new central midfielder, winger, centre back and striker this summer. Having already signed Lindelof from Benfica, the Reds are desperate to add to their squad as early as possible so that any new signings can settle into the squad before the season starts next month.

It has been a frustrating summer so far for all involved at United, their search for a new striker continues as Real Madrid hold out for a fee of £80m for Morata, whereas United value the Spaniard at closer to £60m. Mourinho is desperate to link up with Matic again, the pair flourished when working together at Chelsea, and the manager is confident that the holding midfielder can help United to their first league title in almost 5 years. Perisic may not be a popular choice of winger for United fans, but you can’t fault the Croatian’s desire to play for United. The 28-year-old is said to be doing all he can to force a move to Old Trafford, his club Inter are reluctant to sell.
