United Defender Ready To Leave As Real Madrid Line Up Surprise £35m Bid

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is a target for Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in the English media.

The Ivorian international is on a list of defenders that the La Liga side are planning to recruit, with the centre-back prepared to leave after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Bailly has made just 17 appearances in all competitions this season, making just 13 starts for the Red Devils.

Real are reportedly weighing up an offer of £35m for the 24-year-old, which would be £5m more than United paid Villarreal for the defender back in 2016.

The centre-half’s last game under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came against Paris Saint-Germain when he was selected out of position at right-back.

Bailly was substituted 36 minutes into the game after picking up an injury. He made the bench for the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal four days later but, since then, he has been sidelined after picking up a concussion whilst playing for Ivory Coast.
