United Dealt Injury Blow

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has emerged as an injury doubt for United’s trip to Everton this weekend. The 33-year-old missed United’s game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, along with Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Daley Blind, who are all now fit to face Everton. Carrick’s injury news is a big blow to United. He’s played an integral part in reviving the sides top 4 hopes and his absence was shown in United’s loss to Chelsea, where Wayne Rooney was forced to play in midfield. The news will surely upset fans who will be very keen to get Carrick back into the starting XI as soon as possible. However, the Everton game will come too soon for him to return.

It won’t be as big of a blow for United as it was Carrick missing the Chelsea game, but only if Daley Blind is passed fit for the game. Although there is no guarantee of that, it’s likely the Dutchman will be brought in to replace him. Manchester United have been hard hit with injuries all season, and this latest news will surely put a downer on the current form of the side. Even with Daley Blind coming in to replace Carrick, there is certain to be a sense of disappointment among fans due to Carrick’s brilliance. The game against Everton will certainly prove a tough test for United, regardless of Everton’s poor season. Earlier in the season United only just beat the side, thanks to De Gea’s heroics.
