United Dealt Injury Blow Ahead Of Spurs Clash As Solskjaer Confirms Second Centre Back Is Out

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Axel Tuanzebe will miss tomorrow evening’s game against Tottenham.

It was already known that Phil Jones was struggling to overcome a knock he picked up since returning to training, but the Red Devils now have a second centre-back missing with Solskjaer refusing to put a timescale on their return to fitness:

“We have two players, it’s Phil Jones and Axel will probably miss this game and the start. Let’s see how bad they are. Apart from that, the rest of the squad is fit and available.”

Although it will be a major disappointment for Tuanzebe who has had a number of injury setbacks this season, the good news for United is that all of their key players will be fit and ready to start tomorrow.

Solskjaer did offer a word of caution on Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford. Both players are returning from long injury layoffs and the suggestion is that they will only be given a limited number of minutes against Spurs.

Whether that means the pair will start on the bench, we shall have to wait and see.
