United Could Sign Dutch World Cup Star For Just £26.4M If They Return To Negotiating Table This Summer

Inter Milan are prepared to lower their asking price for Denzel Dumfries to just €30m (£26.4m), according to reports in the Italian media.

It is believed that both Manchester United and Chelsea have cooled their interest in the Dutch international, who starred for his country at the World Cup.

Dumfries’ original €50m (£44m) valuation put them off from making offers during the January transfer window, but his new asking price could tempt the Red Devils to re-enter negotiations.

United currently have two right-backs in the first-team squad, but there are doubts over the future of both Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The former is closing in on the final twelve months of his contract at Old Trafford, while the latter has not convinced manager Erik ten Hag.

There have been reports of interest in another Dutchman, Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, but Dumfries’ greater experience and lower price tag could make him a more attractive target.
