Bayern Munich have tabled a bid worth (€25m) £21m for Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, according to De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij.
The Dutch reporter claims Bayern officials Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic had a “secret” meeting with Ajax after the second leg of the Champions League last 16 tie against Benfica last week, where the offer was made:
BREAKING: Voorzitter Oliver Kahn, technisch directeur Marko Neppe en sportdirecteur Hasan Salihamidzic van @FCBayern brachten de dag na #Ajax-Benfica een ‘geheim’ bezoek en deden bod van (in totaal) 25 miljoen euro op @RGravenberch. De details 👇🏾https://t.co/B3KhytTt8W

Manchester United are believed to be scouting Gravenberch, while a whole host of other teams, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, have also been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old in recent months.
The proposal on the table from Bayern is actually quite low, considering the teenager’s potential, but his current contract with Ajax does expire in 2023 so the fee won’t need to be that high.
Whether United will respond to Bayern’s bid, we shall have to wait and see. One major issue is that the Manchester club don’t have a permanent manager in place for next season and any new signings may have to wait until a new coach is appointed.
