Atletico Madrid may look to use Kieran Trippier in a bid to sign Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Manchester United are said to be very keen on snapping up Trippier (who is valued at £18m by Transfermarkt) as they look to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. There have even been reports that the England international is looking for houses in Manchester.
However, Atletico would need a replacement, and if they do make an approach for Bellerin, it seems as though it could present Trippier with a dilemma.
The 30-year-old is keen to return to England, in order to be closer to his family but, after previously playing for Tottenham, he may feel that joining their fierce rivals Arsenal would be a step too far, even if it allows him to come back to London.
There is of course another solution. United could pay to sign Trippier, freeing up funds for Atletico to go after Bellerin without resorting to a player exchange.
