United Could Challenge Liverpool And Chelsea For 43M Rated Spaniard As They Eye Possible Pogba Replacement

Manchester United are still keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The 26-year-old is believed to be available this summer for around €50m (£43m), which is a lot lower than the €150m (£128m) release clause which clubs have been told to pay previously.

It has alerted the attention of other teams, with both Liverpool and Chelsea having been mentioned as potential suitors in recent weeks. Reports have even suggested that Jurgen Klopp’s side have had a €40m (£34m) bid knocked back.

Whether United will enter the running may depend on Paul Pogba’s future. The Frenchman has less than a year left on his contract and, if he were to leave Old Trafford, a replacement would be needed.

The Red Devils are said to be continuing talks with Pogba over signing an extension but, so far, no agreement has been reached with the player.
