United Contacted As Agents Try To Find 287 Goal Striker A New Club

Manchester United have been in contact with Roma striker Edin Dzeko about a potential transfer before this evening’s transfer deadline, according to reports in Italy.

The Bosnian international has fallen out with his manager Paulo Fonseca, and he has also been linked with Chelsea, West Ham and his former club Manchester City.

United are likely to have been offered Dzeko by his agent, along with those aforementioned teams and, even if they were interested, getting a deal done before the window would be very difficult.

Roma would like to bring in a replacement but, with no money to spend, it seems a swap deal of some kind would be the only real option for them.

With that being the case, the Red Devils are unlikely to get involved in trying to sign Dzeko (who has scored 287 goals in his career). A prospective part-exchange with Inter Milan is thought to be a more realistic prospect, which would see former United forward Alexis Sanchez moving to the Giallorossi.
