United Contact Serie A Star’s Agent About £48.7m Transfer

Manchester United have been in contact with agent Mino Raiola about signing AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to the Corriere della Sera.

The Italian newspaper reports that the Rossoneri would let the player leave for between €55m (£48.7m) and €60m (£53m) this summer in order to fund their other transfer business.

Donnarumma has had a difficult relationship with his club’s fans over the past few years but he did sign a four-year contract back in 2017 to keep him at the San Siro until 2021.

The 20-year-old is Italy’s number one keeper and United may be considering him as a possible replacement for David de Gea.

The Spaniard has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford but has shown no signs of renewing his current deal. The Red Devils are reportedly prepared to let his contract run down, even if that means losing him for nothing next summer.

PSG are said to be interested in de Gea, and if the French club do make an offer, Donnarumma could be the keeper United have chosen to take up the gloves.
