Manchester United are weighing up a possible move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, according to reports in the English media.
The France international is being lined up as a potential alternative to Jadon Sancho if the Red Devils are unable to agree a fee for the 20-year-old.
Borussia Dortmund are said to be demanding in excess of £100m for the England star but United are trying to keep their overall net spend down to £50m this summer.
That means that if they can’t offload some players in the next transfer window, Sancho could well be out of their price range, with Dembele seen as a cheaper option.
The Frenchman has struggled with injuries since moving to Barcelona for an initial €105m in 2017 and the Catalan club could well cut their losses on a player who has played just nine times this campaign.
Dembele certainly has the speed, trickery and goalscoring threat manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be looking for in a winger but his fitness problems will be a major concern.
