United Battle Chelsea and Spurs For Youngster

Manchester United have reportedly locked horns with the likes of Chelsea and Spurs over the transfer of highly rated starlet Cengiz Under.

The Turkish international is widely regarded as one of the most promising prospects to have come out of the Super Lig in recent years. Having already played for Turkey on four occasions, the winger has managed to score two goals.

His father has fuelled rumours about his son’s future recently, saying that the 19-year-old could be set to leave Basaksehir in the summer transfer window. Spurs have been reported to be chasing the youngster’s signature, with an £8m fee apparently already agreed. But his father, Hasan, has been quoted in Turkish paper Milliyet saying that there are ongoing negotiations with an unnamed club.

He revealed: “Cengiz Under talks are ongoing, what can I say except wish him the best of luck.”

Moreover, the player himself admitted earlier this month that he sees himself playing in the Premier League, mentioning both Manchester United and Chelsea as teams he would like to play for.

“Every player wants to play in a team like Manchester United or Chelsea.” Cengiz stated.

“I believe that one day I will play for one of those teams.”

It’s hardly the transfer news that United fans were hoping for, but it is always worth keeping an eye on potential youth deals that the club could make.
