Manchester United are “turning their attention” to Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak after failing to land Erling Haaland, according to the Daily Star.

The English tabloid reports that the Red Devils are “resigned to losing out” on Haaland to either Manchester City or Real Madrid but they have identified Isak as their main alternative.

Sociedad are believed to be demanding around £60m for Isak, and there will be competition from other Premier League clubs for the Swedish international’s signature.

Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on the 22-year-old but it is Arsenal who are thought to be United’s biggest rival for the player. The Gunners are very keen on finding a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and they have earmarked Isak as one of their key targets.

The Daily Star claim that Champions League football could well prove a decisive factor in which team Isak ends up joining at the end of the season. United are currently one point behind the Gunners in the battle for fourth.
