United Are Expected To Revive Their Interest In La Liga Star Who Has 58M Release Clause

Manchester United are likely to make another attempt to sign Villarreal centre-half Pau Torres next summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The 25-year-old is not expected to renew his contract and he will have just twelve months remaining on his current deal at the end of the season.

Torres does have a release clause, which is currently set at €65m (£58m), but United and other clubs aren’t going to pay such a figure considering his contract situation.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham have also been linked with the player in the past so Erik ten Hag’s side may have to fight off other Premier League clubs for the Spanish international’s services.

Whether United are seriously considering an offer for the defender, though, it is questionable. They have recently signed a first-choice centre-back who is left-footed in Lisandro Martinez. After paying close to £57m for the Argentine, it would be a surprise if they went after Torres too.
