Manchester United are preparing to “make a formal offer” for Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio before the transfer window closes, according to Relevo journalist Sergio Santos.
The Spanish reporter claims that, while the La Liga champions are keen to keep hold of the 3-time Champions League winner, United will test their resolve by tabling a €30m (£25m) bid:

Asensio has less than a year left on his contract at the Bernabeu, and he has stalled on signing an extension due to concerns over a lack of first-team opportunities.
The likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle have also been mentioned as potential destinations this summer but it appears Erik ten Hag’s side are the team most likely to secure his signature.
Considering Real could risk Asensio leaving the club on a free transfer, there is a possibility that they will accept United’s proposal if the Red Devils do formalise their interest in the coming days.
