United And Liverpool Are Tracking The Same THREE Bundesliga Centre Backs Ahead Of January Window

Manchester United and Liverpool have the same three centre-backs on their list of January transfer targets, according to the Daily Mail‘s Simon Jones.

The journalist claims that the Red Devils have recently joined Jurgen Klopp’s side in the race to sign Schalke’s Ozan Kabak, who has had his asking price slashed from £40m to £25m.

However, the Turkish international is not the only centre-half in the Bundesliga that United and Liverpool will consider going after when the transfer window reopens next month.

RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano and his teammate Ibrahima Konate are “names being discussed” by United and Liverpool’s recruitment departments as they look to reinforce the centre of defence.

Upamecano, who has also been linked with Manchester City and Chelsea, will have a €42m (£38m) release clause which comes into effect next summer. Konate, meanwhile, reportedly has a €50m (£46m) buyout fee which can be triggered at any time and recently attracted interest from Arsenal.

It is believed United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is very keen to find a new partner for Harry Maguire and it will be interesting to see who they choose to go after.
