United and Chelsea Lock Horns Over Midfielder

Manchester United and Chelsea are set to go head to head over the signature of Atletico Madrid midfielder, Arda Turan. The player’s agent has hinted his client is in talks with Manchester United, but Chelsea are said to be a number of clubs ready to rival for the Turk.

The 28-year-old, who has been a key part of Atletico for a number of years, is set to leave the club this summer. His agent, Ahmet Bulut, has admitted Turan is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Bulut told Spanish paper AS: “We are currently in talks with three teams but I cannot reveal the names of the clubs.”

“However, I can tell you that they are the best in England and in European football.”

“His intention is to leave Spain this summer.”

Turan, who has played over 80 times for Turkey, appeared in 46 games for Atletico last season scoring 3 goals. The star wants to end his time at Madrid, where he has been for 4 years, and move to a club that could potentially be in England. With a move to Serie A out of the question, and Turan insisting he wants to leave Spain, only a possible move to PSG and moves to United and Chelsea are likely.

It’ll be interesting to see where Arda turns out playing next season, a player of his quality would fit into any side. Up to now, United are the favourites to sign the midfielder, who can play almost anywhere in the middle of the park, but Chelsea’s interest could prove to be a stumbling block for the Red Devils.
