United And Chelsea Continue To Track 20 Year Old Defender Who Could Be Sold For £22m

Manchester United remain interested in signing Verona defender Marash Kumbulla, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Red Devils were first linked with a bid for the Albanian international back in the January transfer window, but it appears they now have a lot more competition for the centre-back.

RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt as well as Chelsea are said to be monitoring Kumbulla, who has impressed as part of a Verona defence that has conceded just 26 goals in 25 Serie A games this campaign.

The Italian club are believed to be reluctant to sell the 20-year-old, but it is believed that a bid of between €25m (£22m) and €28m (£24m) could be enough to secure the player’s services.

Some reports suggest that United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not prioritise the signing of another centre-back this summer, but if the likes of Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones are sold, he may reconsider his position.
