United And Chelsea Both Weighing Up Summer Swoop For 24 Year Old Shot Stopper

Manchester United and Chelsea are both considering potential bids for Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, according to The Mirror.

The 24-year-old is one of the players being scouted by the Red Devils’ recruitment department as they weigh up possible replacements for David De Gea.

No decision has been made on De Gea’s future yet. His contract is set to expire at the end of the season but the club do have an option to extend his stay for a further twelve months.

If United choose to pursue Sanchez instead, though, they would still have a fight on their hands to secure his signature. Chelsea boss Graham Potter worked with the Spanish international when he was manager of the Seagulls and that relationship could hand the Blues the advantage.

In terms of comparisons, Sanchez has a 69.6% save percentage in the Premier League this season, to De Gea’s 64%, which suggests there isn’t really a lot between them when it comes to their performances.
