United And Chelsea Both In The Frame As Real Madrid Star Confirms Agent Negotiations

Real Madrid winger/fullback Lucas Vazquez has confirmed that his agents are in negotiations with clubs ahead of a possible transfer in the summer.

The 29-year-old’s contract at the Bernabeu expires at the end of the season and he will soon be a free agent. Asked about his future, the Spaniard indicated that talks are ongoing:

“I don’t know what will happen. In the end, you never know what will happen in the future. Whatever happens, I will always be a Madrid fan. Without a doubt, my agents are doing a great job to get the best for me.”

Reports in Spain suggest that Manchester United, Chelsea, AC Milan and Bayern Munich have all offered four-year deals to Vazquez, while Real Madrid are only willing to give him a three-year contract.

Due to the reigning La Liga champions’ financial problems, they have also reportedly proposed a 10% wage cut, which is in stark contrast to the offers he has received from abroad, where he would be given a salary increase.

It all points to Vazquez leaving Madrid in the summer. United would be a realistic destination for the player. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to provide Aaron Wan-Bissaka with some competition at right-back and, with Vazquez being stronger in the attacking third, he would be a good option to have in the squad.
