United Among Three Teams Plotting Summer Swoop For £43m Rated Eredivisie Star

Manchester United are one of three clubs who have registered their interest in Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to De Telegraaf.

The Dutch newspaper claims that the Red Devils, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain have all been in contact with the Cameroon international’s agent Albert Botines about a possible transfer at the end of the season.

Ajax are reportedly holding out for a fee of between €40m (£35m) and €50m (£43m) for the 23-year-old, whose performances for the Eredivisie champions over the past couple of years have led to growing interest in the shot-stopper.

It remains to be seen whether United’s name is just being used to drum up interest in Onana. After all, the Manchester club have an undisputed number one in David De Gea who signed a new contract earlier this season.

The Red Devils won’t be considering a goalkeeper as a primary target next summer, so it’s definitely wise to take this rumour with a big pinch of salt.
