United Among Three PL Clubs Who Have ‘Expressed An Interest’ In Triggering Serie A Star’s £39.5M Release Clause

Kim Min-Jae

Manchester United have “expressed an interest” in signing Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae, according to the Daily Mail.

The English tabloid reports that Erik ten Hag’s side could be prepared to trigger the South Korean international’s €45m (£39.5m) release clause.

However, it is believed that the Red Devils may have to compete with Liverpool and Tottenham for Kim’s signature, with both clubs also signalling that they could be willing to pay the buyout fee.

The 26-year-old only joined Napoli from Fenerbahce for £15m at the start of the season but he has played an integral role in the Serie A club’s title challenge.

There is a possibility that Kim could be offered a new contract, which could remove the release clause, but his head is likely to have been turned by the interest being shown in him.

In addition to the three Premier League teams, both Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also said to be scouting the centre-back ahead of the summer transfer window.
