United Among Three Clubs To Send Scouts To Watch ‘New Pirlo’ Who Is Valued At £42m

Manchester United had scouts present to see Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali in action against AC Milan on Friday night, according to reports in the Italian media.

Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain also had representatives in the stands as Tonali’s side lost 1-0 against the Rossoneri. The 19-year-old was impressive once again, though, and the “new Pirlo” as some in the press have labelled him, is gathering a host of admirers.

However, Brescia won’t let Tonali go without a fight and owner Massimo Cellino is looking for a club to pay around €50m (£42m) in order to secure the Italian international’s signature.

Juventus are the team who are apparently leading the race for the teenager, but United could also be an attractive proposition with the prospect of guaranteed first-team football.

The Red Devils are very weak in central areas, but if they are to compete with Europe’s elite for Tonali, it’s likely that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would need to secure a Champions League place.
