United Already Lining Up January Swoop For £80m Rated Playmaker

Manchester United are considering a bid for Leicester City playmaker James Maddison in the January transfer window, according to the Mirror.

The 22-year-old has started the season in superb form, and Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be keen to add creativity to the side following a difficult beginning to the campaign.

United struggled to break down a tightly packed defence in the 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace yesterday and it was really an issue that should have been addressed this summer.

However, with the transfer window now closed, the Manchester club will have to wait in order to make their move for Maddison.

The Englishman won’t come cheap either. Leicester could reportedly hold out for the same fee they sold Harry Maguire for to United.

£80m would be an extremely steep asking price, considering Maddison has only made 39 appearances in the Premier League since arriving from Norwich City for £20m thirteen months ago.
