Manchester United are interested in signing a centre-back and they have identified three potential targets, according to the Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst:

The reporter claims the Red Devils are “admirers” of RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano and Real Madrid’s World Cup-winning defender Raphael Varane.
Upamecano, in particular, has been linked with a number of clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, and reports in Germany suggest that he is targeting a move to the Premier League in the summer when his €42m (£38m) release clause becomes active.
United have also been keeping a watchful eye on Brighton defender Ben White but his reported £50m price tag could well deter any team from making a bid for the player.
It is believed that United are targeting four players in total but none are expected to arrive in the January transfer window, with the financial impact of the global health crisis still being felt.
