Two Centre Backs Worth A Combined £125m Are ‘Top Priority’ Targets For United

RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano and Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly remain in the “top priority” group of targets for Manchester United, according to the Independent.

While Upamecano has a release clause of €60m (£53.5m), Koulibaly is said to be valued at €80m (£71.5m), bringing their combined valuation to €140m (£125m).

However, there appears to be another defender who is above the pair on the Red Devils’ list of targets for the next transfer window.

The Manchester club are reportedly still monitoring Swansea City’s Joe Rodon, and it is believed the Wales international is listed as the “highest priority.”

There are said to be a number of other clubs who are interested in the 22-year-old, including Manchester City, with the defender likely to be available for around £20m this summer.

Considering Rodon isn’t of the same calibre as either Upamecano or Koulibaly, it seems United are looking to invest in potential at the back while saving their funds for bigger outlays on Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish.
