“Total Nonsense…” Report Shoots Down Claims About United’s Attempts To Sign 34M Rated Ivorian Star

Manchester United are not in talks to sign PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, according to Eindhovens Dagblad.

The Dutch publication claims reports suggesting that discussions have been held over a €40m (£34m) transfer are “total nonsense”.

Sangare has been scouted by United, along with a number of other Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle but, so far, no team has made a serious move to snap up the 24-year-old.

The Ivorian international is a holding midfielder by trade; a position that the Red Devils could do with strengthening after the departure of Nemanja Matic earlier this summer.

It is believed that manager Erik ten Hag did try and persuade the Serbian to extend his contract at Old Trafford. Having failed to do so, it stands to reason that he would be looking to find a replacement. At the moment, though, it doesn’t appear that Sangare will be that player.
