Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has struggled for form and fitness at the start of this season at club level. However, he continues to excel for England.
The 25-year-old scored an excellent opening goal for his country against the USA in a friendly last night:

United fans on Twitter hailed the strike but questioned why he doesn’t do that more often for his club:

So far this season, Lingard has not scored or contributed an assist in his eight Premier League appearances, although he did create a goal in the Carabao Cup defeat to Derby back in September.
The winger has had his issues with injuries this campaign, being sidelined for a whole month with a torn abductor muscle.
Still, supporters will be hoping to see more of an end product from Lingard over the coming weeks and months. He has certainly shown in flashes that he is capable of a lot more in a United shirt.
