Top 5 Transfers Manchester United Might Regret Not Making

Manchester United have the chance to make this one of the greatest summers ever. They have the money, they have the appeal and all is left is to actually start bidding for as many world class players as they can. There are a lot of important names available to sign up and LVG knows this is the time to spend big. Looking back, Sir Alex Ferguson missed out on some amazing players who could have made history at Old Trafford. Hopefully this will not be the case with United’s current manager who will definitely regret not signing at least one or two of the following players:

  1. Sergio Ramos – The Spaniard is probably the best and most complete defender in the world. He is strong, smart, fast, experienced and willing to leave Real. It is the perfect chance to bring in one of the greatest defensive players in modern football.
  2. Paul Pogba – Even though this would mean Manchester made a mistake in letting him leave, he would be a great addition to the team. He is one of the most promising youngsters out there and would fit in perfectly alongside Fellaini.
  3. Edinson Cavani – The Uruguayan would do wonders if played in his favorite position. Unfortunately for him, he chose PSG where Ibrahimovich kept him back and did not allow him to show how great of a no.9 he really is.
  4. Hugo Lloris – If De Gea does leave for Real, the French keeper is definitely on top of the replacement list and it would be a shame to have this keeper not playing for Manchester as he is one of the best around.
  5. Alexandre Lacazette – This 24 year old striker is probably one of the best investments to make for the future. He is a scoring machine and among the few young pure strikers who are so efficient at this age.

Here is a list of Top 5 players United likely regret not transferring as well, just in case you were wondering who could have made it to Old Trafford over the past decade:

  1. Ronaldinho – The Brazilian is probably the biggest miss in the club’s recent history. Ferguson was close to signing him to replace Beckham but PSG decided to sell him to Barcelona.
  2. Patrick Kluivert – He was a top target for the club but he also decided to join Barcelona despite Ferguson wanting his signature.
  3. Arjen Robben – He was almost signed but pulled away at the last moment to sign with rivals Chelsea.
  4. Gareth Bale – The Welshman could have signed with United instead of Tottenham but Ferguson was not convincing enough.
  5. Gabriel Batistuta – The Argentinian legend did not make it to Old Trafford because he had too big of a salary for the other team mates to handle.

Hopefully this summer Manchester United will decide to go all in and find a way to make some serious transfers in order to help the club compete for both the Premier League and the Champions League as well as the two domestic cup competitions.
