Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is seriously considering leaving the Bernabeu in the summer, an agent with close connections to the Frenchman’s family has revealed.
Bruno Satin claims he has talked to Varane’s brother, Anthony, who told him that the centre-back is seeking a new challenge away from the Spanish club:
“I spoke recently with Anthony, and we discussed a little bit about the state of the market, so to speak. I think at this moment in his career he is having a profound reflection.”
“I don’t think he has fully decided to leave Real Madrid, but he is thinking about it because he has won everything that you can at Real.”
“Because he feels like he has the feeling that he has done what was to be done over there, and there could be a new cycle. Aside from that, I have not spoken directly with Raphael myself.'”
Fans on Twitter fear this could simply be a ploy for Varane to get a new contract:
This is like the whole Sergio Ramos saga again.

Although Manchester United have been mentioned as a possible destination, the player himself has yet to confirm or deny whether he is looking to leave Real.
It could well be a ploy to get a new deal, although it was only 18 months ago that Varane signed a contract keeping him at the club until 2022.
United are likely keeping tabs on the centre-half’s situation as the 25-year-old is unquestionably one of the best in his position in world football, but they’ll probably be cautious considering previous incidents.
