“They Are Preparing An Offer…” Journalist Believes United Are Serious About Signing 16 Goal French Ace

Manchester United are planning to make a formal bid for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.

A story about the Red Devils tabling a €120m (£106m) offer for the France international circulated in the German media last week, but it was quickly dismissed by Frankfurt’s sporting director. However, Falk insists a deal is still in the works:

“It’s no longer realistic for Frankfurt to keep Randal Kolo Muani for one year more. The player’s already come out and said it’s the first time he can think about a summer move – to a big club in particular. So, you see, Frankfurt is losing a lot of quality and this could be the reason why Oliver Glasner is considering leaving.”

“Manchester United is a big thing for Muani. They don’t have the right striker for this position; look at Wout Weghorst – he’s only scored two goals for them. They are preparing an offer for him. He knows that and if you have United in your head, it’s hard to concentrate on Frankfurt.”

As Falk mentions, Muani has spoken out recently to say that he would consider a summer move, but his transfer fee looks to be massively inflated.

The 24-year-old arrived from Nantes on a free transfer last year, and he has scored 16 goals in all competitions for Frankfurt this season. Even so, he has only been a standout performer for a short period of time.

Muani’s displays have attracted interest from other Premier League teams, including Chelsea and Liverpool but United do seem the firm favourites for his signature. Whether they will pay a sizeable figure to secure his services, though, we shall have to wait and see.
