“There Are Clubs Knocking At The Door” Club Director Reveals Premier League Teams Are Keen On £60m Rated United Target

Fiorentina director Joe Barone has revealed that Premier League clubs have registered an interest in signing winger Federico Chiesa.

The Italian international, who is reportedly valued at £60m, has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in recent months.

Barone says there is no rush to sell Chiesa but the Viola are aware that clubs would be looking to sign him when the next transfer window opens:

“[Federico] Chiesa is a Fiorentina player. There are clubs knocking at the door for Chiesa, some of them who speak English… We’ll see, for the moment we just need to finish the season and he is very concentrated on doing well for us.”

Chiesa generally plays on the right-wing; a position which the Red Devils are said to be keen to strengthen. Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho is believed to be their top target but they are likely to have alternatives in mind if the 20-year-old proves to be too expensive.

At 22 years of age, Chiesa would also fit into United’s policy of signing young players so it will be interesting to see whether the Manchester club firm up their interest in the Italian.
