Manchester United have cooled their interest in Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, according to reports in the English media.
The Villans are said to be demanding up to £80m for the 24-year-old, which has been deemed as too much by the Red Devils. Supporters on Twitter have backed the club’s stance and have recommended some potential alternatives for the midfielder:
£80m for Jack Grealish. The world has gone mad.

I don’t see the point in paying 80mil for a player who will start from the bench. Bound to be better value elsewhere.

Holding a player to ransom, what a big club

People can say what they want about him, the cold heart facts is this is the right move. He’s just not a £80m player, it’s as simple as that.

For £80m don't bother. Everyone is forgetting what he did during the lockdown. Too expensive and terrible attitude, get someone better

30m maximum

It does seem as though some clubs are operating in the vacuum, despite the financial impact of the global health crisis.
However, it must be pointed out that Aston Villa are owned by two billionaires so they are under no pressure to sell Grealish, especially as they have secured their top-flight status for another season.
The player himself, though, may not be impressed at being priced out of a move to Old Trafford by his club, and it is very likely that we haven’t heard the last of this story.
